Chili Pepper Doodads - Directions

Think Safety:

• Always use the correct filtered glasses to protect your eyes.
• Wear appropriate clothing and footwear.
• Always work with proper ventilation. Talk with an expert about your situation.
• Set up and operate your torch system safely. Take a class or get an expert to show you.
• Keep your workspace clean and organized. Set up your tools and glass so you don't need to reach over or around the torch.
• Be careful with water. Putting hot tools or glass in water can generate steam. Long tubes can create jets of steam.
• Watch out for repetitive strain injury (RSI). Take breaks, watch your posture, and cushion your elbow rests.
• Always remove and clean your beads while wet to minimize bead release dust in the air.

• Holding the tool paralel to the Chili Pepper, insert the right angle end into the gap at the top of either side latch.
• Twist the tool over the top of the Chili Pepper.
• When you lift the door, just hook the door handle into the end hook of the tool.

• Remove any labels or packaging.
• Insert the rack into your kiln with the long bar towards the back.
• You can use the rack with the teeth up or down. The small teeth allow you to space the beads more easily.
• Place it with the bar about 1" from the back wall.
• As you finish beads, place them with the end of the rod resting on the rack.
• After they have soaked for a while, if you need more space, you can pull beads off the rack gently with the door closed.
