Inspiration Toolworks LLC is no longer taking orders. Instead, our tools are now available through Zooziis!.
I will sell a few left over odds and ends on eBay in the coming weeks. I will send out email to my mailing list when that happens.
Teflon Strips - Directions
Safety First:
- If you user power tools, always read the directions.
- Use dust collection. Dust is bad for your lungs.
- When using sharp hand tools, always apply pressure away from your body. Don't cut towards yourself!
- Wear safety glasses.
Assembly:
- Determine the desired length. Remember that Teflon/Formica beearings work best at a specific PSI. For small scopes it is hard to make your bearings too small. I recommend 1/2" or 3/4" long.
- Cut the teflon with a saw or utility knife.
- You can attach the Teflon with epoxy, nails, or screws.
- I tend to drill a small countersunk hole and use a flat head screw. This makes it easy to reposition, and there is no chance of the nail heads working out.
- Chamfer the edges of the teflon in the direction of bearing motion. I use a sharp chisel. Remember to push away from your body and hands!
